Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 27, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Stockonomy ("we," "us") collects, how we use it, and your choices. By using the Service you agree to this Policy.
1. Information we collect
Account information: your email address and authentication details, processed through our authentication provider. Usage information: the tickers and watchlists you save, alerts, and basic technical data such as log and device information needed to operate and secure the Service. Payment information: if you subscribe, billing is handled by our third-party payment processor; we do not store your full card details.
2. How we use information
We use your information to provide and maintain the Service, send you alerts and account or transactional emails (including the newsletter and digests you are enrolled in), process payments, prevent abuse, and improve the Service. We do not sell or rent information that identifies you personally — such as your email address or your individual, identifiable activity.
3. Aggregated and de-identified data
Part of how we fund a free Service is by licensing or selling data that is not about you as an individual. Specifically: (a) the analytical output our engine produces from public SEC filings — forensic grades, scores, and research — which is derived from public company filings, not from your personal information; and (b) aggregated, de-identified usage signals, such as which tickers or sectors are being researched across our user base as a whole, in a form that cannot reasonably be used to identify you. We do not include your identity, email, or individually identifiable activity in anything we license or sell for these purposes, and we contractually require recipients not to attempt to re-identify it.
3a. Advisor client books
If you use the professional "client book" feature, the client information we store is a label you choose (which may be initials), a list of stock tickers you associate with it, and — only if you enter one — a share count per holding. We never store account numbers, dollar balances, Social Security numbers, contact details, or other sensitive personal data. Position values and percent-of-book figures are calculated when you open the page, using a share count you entered and a market price fetched at that moment; no dollar amount is ever written to your record.
This client-book data is never sold or shared, is never used to identify or contact your clients, and is excluded from the aggregated/de-identified datasets described above. Access is enforced by database row-level security: it is readable by your account and, if you invite teammates to a firm roster, by those teammates for the clients on that roster. You input it as the responsible professional; we process it solely to provide the book, its analysis, and its alerts to you (see Terms §12b).
Deleting a client removes that client and its holdings. Records you created about that client — memo exports, recorded reviews, and Decision Journal entries — are retained with the label you gave the client, detached from the deleted record, because they are your own professional audit trail and deleting them would defeat their purpose. Closing your account deletes your user record and, by database cascade, the data that references it.
4. Email communications
If you have an account, we may send you product, alert, and newsletter emails relevant to the Service. You can adjust email preferences in your account settings or unsubscribe where indicated.
5. Service providers
We share data with vendors that help us run the Service — including authentication, database, hosting, email delivery, market-data, AI model, and payment providers — only as needed to provide the Service, and subject to their own terms and safeguards. We also use third-party providers for product analytics, error monitoring, and bot/fraud verification (for example, during signup), which may set cookies or similar identifiers in your browser as part of that function.
6. Data retention and security
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service and meet legal obligations. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
7. Your choices
You may access, update, or delete your account information, or request deletion of your account, by contacting us. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights regarding your personal data, including the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information; you can exercise any such rights by contacting us using the information below.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
9. Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time. Changes are reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
10. Contact
