# Stockonomy > Stockonomy checks a stated figure against the SEC filing it came from. Each verdict (matches_filing, first_filed_differently, contradicted, not_on_file, refused, and for events absent_in_read) names the filing accession it was read from when one was read, and each call writes a receipt on a hash chain that can be verified offline. A verdict compares a number with a filing; it makes no statement that the number or the company is sound. An agent calls the check in three steps: try GET /check/public for one figure with no account (20 checks per address per 30 days), sign in and make a key under Settings, API keys, then POST /v1/resolve with the header X-Api-Key and a body of {"ticker", "claims"} holding up to 20 claims. ## Call it - [Developer guide](https://stockonomy.net/developers): the verdicts, claim shapes, curl and Python examples, and per-key allowances (10 a minute, 500 a day). - [OpenAPI description](https://stockonomy.net/openapi.json): POST /v1/resolve and GET /check/public. ## Verify it - [Dated error record](https://stockonomy.net/record/series): counts per run, anchored with an outside timestamp, with the steps to check it offline. - [Free check](https://stockonomy.net/check/free): one figure against its filing, in the browser. ## Plans - [Pricing](https://stockonomy.net/pricing)
